Enforcement of Judgment Debts
The fees chargeable by the Viscount’s Department are laid down in the Stamp Duties and Fees (Jersey) Law 1998.
The enforcement of judgment debts
Where an Act of Court is lodged with the Viscount for enforcement, but is found to be unenforceable by reason either that the debtor cannot be found or that he or she is without assets, then a discretionary charge of up to £638 may be made. In practice, where only minimal work is required to establish that the judgement is unenforceable then a charge of £50 will be made where a judgement cannot be enforced.
