Contacting the coroner's officers

Coroner’s officers are civilian police staff or serving police officers and are part of the States of Jersey Police.  They work closely with the Coroner to investigate deaths and support families during those investigations.

Coroner’s officers gather information from families, doctors, mortuary staff and funeral directors. They will also gather evidence from witnesses, or anyone a Coroner decides is an ‘interested person’ in the inquest.

Coroner’s officers are a vital source of help and information for families and witnesses. A duty officer will usually available between 08:00 and 16:00 Monday to Friday using the contact details below.
